Airbus A220 Type Rating (B1/B2) — All Engines (PW 1500G) Step into the next generation of regional aviation with the Airbus A220. This EASA Part-147 course offers full certification preparation for both B1 (Mechanical) and B2 (Avionics) engineers, covering the aircraft’s major systems and the PW 1500G geared turbofan engine family. What You’ll Achieve EASA Part-147 Certificate of Recognition (Theoretical & Practical, as applicable) for Airbus A220 (B1/B2). In-depth system-level competence for line and base maintenance, troubleshooting, and airworthiness responsibilities on the A220-100/300 family. Skilled understanding of the PW 1500G engines, including architecture, FADEC integration, and performance monitoring. Course Content (ATA-structured) Airframe & Systems: Limitations, AMM/IPC structure, MEL/CDL awareness, maintenance practices, structural integrity. Powerplant: PW 1500G engine family architecture, FADEC logic, thrust management, health monitoring. Fuel / Pneumatic / Hydraulic / Electrical: Aircraft-wide system functions including fuel supply, pneumatic logic, hydraulic circuits, electrical load distribution. Landing Gear & Brakes: Gear extension/retraction sequences, brake systems, steering logic, antiskid functionality. Flight Controls: Fly-by-wire system architecture, control surfaces integration, slats & flaps, autoflight systems. Avionics & Instruments (B2 depth): FMS, EFIS/IRS, dual-channel data systems, surveillance/communications, health-monitoring systems. Pressurisation & Environmental: Pack systems, outflow valves, cabin pressurisation, environmental controls. Fire Protection / Oxygen / Ice & Rain: Detection, suppression, oxygen systems, anti-ice/anti-rain logic. Troubleshooting & Practical Tasks: Fault isolation of representative equipment, tool/TE usage, maintenance documentation review and record-keeping.
